ABOUT ME
BACKGROUND
Simon Assor was born and educated in the United Kingdom, qualifying as a dental surgeon in 1993 from Leeds University Medical and Dental School. He completed his vocational training in St. Albans in 1994.
At the age of 27, Simon opened his first dental practice in Hertfordshire. He has over 30 years’ experience as a dental practitioner. From November 2026, Simon will join the team at Centennial Park Dental in Elstree, Hertfordshire, where he will continue to provide private dental care alongside his expert witness practice. STUDIES, QUALIFICATIONS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Between 2006 and 2011 Simon undertook postgraduate training at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute, completing postgraduate qualifications in restorative dentistry and subsequently gaining a Master of Science degree in Restorative Dental Practice.
Simon is a Full Member of the Expert Witness Institute (MEWI) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb). He holds the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate and a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Law & Ethics.
DENTAL EXPERT WITNESS
Alongside his clinical practice, Simon undertakes medico-legal work as a dental expert witness. He accepts instructions from both Claimants and Defendants and prepares reports addressing Breach of Duty, Causation, Condition & Prognosis, and dental personal injury.
His expert witness work draws on more than 30 years of clinical practice, together with postgraduate training in restorative dentistry, dental law and ethics, and formal expert witness training.
Simon understands that his overriding duty as an expert witness is to the Court. He is familiar with and works in accordance with the requirements of CPR Part 35, Practice Direction 35, and the Guidance for the Instruction of Experts in Civil Claims.
He accepts instructions only where the issues fall within his own knowledge, training and clinical experience.
